Job summary

An exciting opportunity to join the Volunteering Services Team providing administration support for the Volunteering Services Team. Providing all volunteers, public and staff with excellent customer service in line with team and Trust values.

This role supports volunteers through a rigorous NHS recruitment process to become skilled and confident volunteers, matched with rewarding volunteering placements across the Trust.

Main duties of the job

To work as part of the Volunteering Service Team providing administration and support to the Deputy Head of Volunteering across all aspects of volunteer recruitment, assessment, induction and specialist training for new and established volunteers across the trust.

Responsible for chaperoning volunteers who express their interest in volunteering, you will support people using the TRAC recruitment system to undergo their application, assessment, recruitment checks, induction and specialist training in order to qualify as a Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Volunteer.

On a day to day basis you will be communicating with and motivating volunteers to complete the stages of the recruitment process, using the TRAC recruitment system to progress volunteers in their volunteering journey and providing information and support to ensure that volunteers complete mandatory and specialist training.

This post will also administer data for volunteer vacancy management, training and induction.

This is a part-time position, as part of a job share

  • Relevant experience of working with volunteers in charities and/or public services.
  • Proven experience of retaining volunteers in a challenging or demanding role, e.g. health or social care
  • Setting and/or implementing customer service standards in a public or community facing role.

Desirable

  • Experience of coaching and supporting people to improve their skills, knowledge and aptitude against set criteria, e.g. a role profile
  • Experience of delivering training and/or supervision to individuals and groups of people

Education/Qualifications

Desirable

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Qualification or certificate in volunteer management

Skills /Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills e.g. interviewing, problem solving, supervision and sign-posting
  • Extensive skills in Microsoft Office applications
  • Good event management skills with attention to a high level of customer service
