Job summary
As part of the ongoing expansion and modernisation of the Royal Eye Unit we are growing our team to ensure we continue to deliver a high standard of care to our local community.
We are seeking an innovative, enthusiastic nurse leader that is passionate about ophthalmology and willing to support its growth.
The successful applicant would be expected to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in the department to achieve high standards of care. We rely on good team work, excellent communication and interpersonal skills for excellent care.
Our busy department includes - Eye Casualty, Pre-operative assessment , AMD, glaucoma and other ophthalmic sub-specialties services and clinics and you would be expected to rotate throughout each area within the department.
Knowledge and experience working on Ophthalmology outpatient setting and managerial experience arevital for this post.
Main duties of the job
The Senior Sister/Charge Nurse will lead a team of Registered Nurses and Health Care Support Workers in the delivery of clinically effective Ophthalmic care. In addition, the post holder will provide nursing leadership within the unit, ensuring an effective quality nursing service, with responsibility for standards of nursing care and patient safety.
The successful candidate will provide strong clinical leadership, training, and facilitate education to all nursing and Imaging staff. The successful candidate must possess good management and leadership skills with current ophthalmic nursing experience and a good knowledge of various ophthalmic procedures and equipment.
You will be working clinically providing clinical expertise to facilitate the safe and effective delivery of care and maintain your own clinical practice.
