- Orthogeriatrics
- Patient Services
- Medicines Information
B7 rotations: paediatrics, NNU and Maternity, Biologics, Adult TPN, Haemato-oncology ITU, and Antimicrobials.
Main duties of the job
As a Band 6 Rotational Pharmacist at Kingston Hospital, your day-to-day responsibilities are varied and integral to patient care. You will primarily focus on clinical work on the ward from 9 AM to 4 PM, handling medication dispensing, patient counselling, and advising on intravenous drug administration. Additionally, every two weeks you'll have a dispensary slot starting from 4PM, and every two weeks, a late duty commitment in the dispensary until 6 PM.
To enhance your professional development and gain a comprehensive portfolio of evidence, you will be supported through the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Foundation Pharmacy Framework. If you have not already begun your diploma, we will assist you in pursuing the Postgraduate Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice at UCL. Upon successful completion of these objectives, you will be promoted directly to a Band 7 position.
As a valued member of our pharmacy team, you won't just be focused on your own responsibilities. You'll also have the opportunity to mentor and guide Trainee Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians, helping them develop professionally and contributing to the growth of our larger team.
You will also have the chance to directly contribute to patient care by providing clinical services on weekends in our Acute Admissions Unit. This rotational program is designed to seamlessly integrate into your contracted hours, ensuring a well-rounded and fulfilling work-life experience.
