Job summary

Are you a Hospital Pharmacy Technician or a Community Pharmacy Technician interested working in a hospital setting or want to develop in a new environment?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and well-motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly Dispensary team at Kingston Hospital.

The post holder will primarily be working within the Dispensary. You will also be given the opportunity to develop your skills in Education and Training by completing your Practice Supervisor Training (PS).

We offer the opportunity to enhance existing skills, and develop new ones.

Main duties of the job

You must have a recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification and be registered with the GPHC. This post is also suitable for Technicians due to qualify within the next 3 months.

You will be required to work at Weekends, Bank Holidays and Late Duty according to rotas to support 7 day working.

Kingston Hospital Pharmacy Department is committed to providing an excellent high-quality medicines service to patients. In addition to effective communication and team-working skills you must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have completed or be willing to undertake training to become an Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT).

To identify prescriptions that might present risks to patients and ensure that relevant issues are resolved before dispensing.

To dispense prescriptions for individual patients, ensuring that they are provided with the correct medicine, in the right form, in a timely manner.

To counsel patients on the safe use of medicines
