Join Kingston Hospital's Midwifery Recruitment Open Day on Saturday 29th April 2023, registration at 9.00am.

Kingston Maternity Services remain committed to implementing the recommendations of The National Maternity Review- Better Births: Improving outcomes of maternity services inEngland.

Preceptorship programme is offered for all newly qualified staff which is supported by a dedicated Clinical Preceptorship Support Midwife. First week of employment includes a full in-depth induction and training week followed by a full 6-week supernumerary (pro rata) orientation and support provided by a named PMA, a named Band 6 buddy and a well-established PDM team and wellbeing service. The preceptorship programme typically lasts 12-18 months to ensure that all clinical skills are completed enabling you to be a confident and competent practitioner.

Main duties of the job

Midwives will work in integrated teams where the majority of their time is spent in the hospital setting with some supported community shifts.We are committed to self-development and have valuable opportunities to continue self-development rotating to all areas within the maternity unit. We wish to nurture aspiring clinical experts and leaders by providing these development opportunities.
