An exciting opportunity has become available for a Physiotherapy Technician to join the Physiotherapy team. This role will involve supporting and working as part of the physiotherapy team in promoting mobility, rehabilitation, exercises and classes.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated person with relevant experience. Excellent communication skills are essential and the ability to work with people as part of a multidisciplinary team. We are a friendly, supportive department and recognise the value of supervision and appraisal.

Main duties of the job

Job Summary

To treat Patients on the inpatient wards requiring Physiotherapy input.

This includes following set treatment protocols, monitoring Patient progression and adjusting Patient treatment programmes as required.

To work with the Multi-disciplinary team to aid timely discharge planning of Patients

Department Philosophy

To provide a high standard, cost effective and efficient Physiotherapy service to Patients in a supportive environment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/OUTCOMES:

Clinical

  1. To manage the rehabilitation of specific uncomplicated Patients. Working without direct supervision, being responsible for assessing Patient progress and reporting back to the Physiotherapist as required.
  2. Instruct Patients and their carers, providing direction and guidance on a range of Physiotherapy activities.
  3. To deliver an individual Physiotherapy treatment programme based on set protocols, evidence based practise and treatment options using assessment skills and knowledge e.g. Patient education and exercises.
  4. Encourage Patients and their carers in an active approach to regaining and maintaining personal independence.
