Job summary

The primary responsibility of the post holder will be to manage the day-to-day operation of the Trust's data warehouse, associated applications and related visualisation products.

Main duties of the job

This will include maintaining the integrity of the data warehouse and to ensure that it remains a trusted single point of truth.

The post holder will be expected to work closely with other teams within the IM&T service in addition to operational and management teams across both the Trust and system partners as appropriate.

They will be expected to support and maintain the data warehouse architecture as well as develop and support, for example, SQL, Dimensional Modelling and ASP.net systems and applications.

They will also be expected to apply best practice to database management, and work closely with the IM&T department to manage system performance.

Education

Essential

  • Educated to degree level in a numerate/quantitative discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience and competencies in relevant or similar roles.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable

  • Qualified at practitioner level of a recognised project management methodology.
  • IT, Information or statistical qualification

Knowledge

Essential

  • Adequate experience required on data analysis - extracting, analysing and presenting
  • Adequate experience required in managing the development business intelligence applications including relevant documentation.
  • Excellent understanding of NHS Data and NHS Data Dictionary
  • SQL for the production of datasets and database manipulation
  • SQL Server Data Tools for the development of SSIS, SSRS or SSAS packages.
  • Can implement and execute Database recovery plans
  • Knowledge of NHS Information requirements and experience of statutory reporting.
  • Experience of creating and maintaining BI Data Marts based on the principles of dimensional modelling.
  • Experience of using and developing on other third party Analysis tools. Examples include Qlikview, PowerBI
  • Experience of documenting Database processes as well as Standard Operation Procedures and change control processes
  • Experience of creating Data Quality for monitoring ETL loads.
