Consultant Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon, Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
We have an exciting opportunity for an Orthopaedic Consultant specialising in Hand surgery to join our Trauma & Orthopaedic Team based at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
This substantive position has been created following retirement, supporting the growing demand within the Hand Service, both electively and through trauma.
Main duties of the job
Candidates will need to demonstrate evidence of specialist training in Hand Surgery which should include at least one hand fellowship, covering both elective and trauma services within the program.
As a substantive position, we are seeking a dynamic individual who is eager to develop the hand service, exploring opportunities to work collaboratively across Southwest London. Excellent communication and teamworking skills are essential, along with a willingness to work flexibly within the team. Candidates must be able to demonstrate specialist knowledge and experience of treating hand conditions both electively and trauma, as well as demonstrating broad experience in general trauma.
About us
The surgeons work collaboratively as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team, fully supported by physiotherapy, hand therapy, radiology and occupational therapy services. The orthopaedic department has a dedicated trauma co-ordinator and two senior sisters leading the inpatient and outpatient services on site.
This is a full time post and attracts 10.75 Programmed Activities per week, with the successful candidates being given the opportunity to discuss taking on further PA's upon appointment.
