Job summary
We are seeking motivated and dynamic Band 7 Paediatric Epilepsy Nurse Specialist to join the Specialist Children's Community Nursing Team in providing excellent quality nursing care for children with Epilepsy in the borough of Waltham Forest.
The Specialist Childrens Community Nursing team comprises of four nursing teams - Child Development Nursing, Special School Nursing, Paediatric Continence Nursing and Children's Community Nursing team. The teams offer care to children across Waltham Forest in their homes, in clinic and in Special School settings. The aim is to provide an excellent standard of Nursing care to enable children to achieve their best possible outcomes.
Main duties of the job
To support the Targeted Children's Service in the daily operational management of the Waltham Forest Paediatric Epilepsy Pathway, ensuring the delivery of high-quality education and support to children and families within the home, school and in various community settings.
To see children in clinic/home or educational settings for review or assessment.
To be responsible for organising and prioritising own caseload in the day-to-day allocation of work, whilst being able to work flexibly to meet the needs of clients, their relatives and carers and the service.
To liaise directly with the Multidisciplinary team to facilitate a seamless high quality Epilepsy care to the child and family at home and in clinic.
To work as a member of the Children's Epilepsy multi-disciplinary Team, providing a holistic and developmental approach to Epilepsy from infancy through to adolescence.
Forming part of a multi-disciplinary team helping to ensure that their input is integrated into the patient's overall care & treatment plans.
To Work in conjunction with the Clinical Manager, nursing staff, paediatricians, service users and the Directorate and Divisional senior management teams, the post holder will coordinate, prioritise, appropriately delegate and organise the safe and effective running of services.

High Cost Area Supplement - Outer LondonThis post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of15%of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,714 and amaximum payment of £5,941 - per annum, pro rata for part time
