Community Mental Health Nurse / EIP Care Coordinator

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Community Mental Health Nurse within Barking and Dagenham Early Intervention in Psychosis Team (HEIP). We are a dynamic and welcoming multidisciplinary team who work with individuals from 14-65 experiencing a first episode psychosis. The team comprises of nurses, psychologists, psychiatrists, an occupational therapist and support workers.

The successful candidate should be an occupational therapist, social worker or Registered Mental Health Nurse with unrestricted live NMC registration. You should have good written and verbal communication skills, be able to work as part of a team and demonstrate an understanding of mental health issues with experience of dealing with emotional distress.

You will be able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate all aspects of care including working/liaising with multi-disciplinary teams and other agencies in the provision of care and have the ability to engage service users and relatives with empathy and compassion.

The successful candidate will have a caseload of service users they are responsible for under CPA.

There are regular opportunities for further training and development.

Main duties of the job

Case management including assessment, providing interventions and support

Managing allocated caseload

Medication management and administration (medication include oral and intramuscular)

Participating in the clinics

Liaising with other professionals andattending ward rounds and professionals meetings.

About us

Starting with NELFTNELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.Probationary PeriodThis post will be subject to a probationary period.   • Diploma or degree in Mental Health Nursing
  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Evidence of post-registration Training /qualification and continued CPD
  • Teaching qualification, Mentoring or other specific job-related post registration qualification
