Job summary

North East London Foundation Trust (NELFT) are seeking Specialist Clinical Pharmacists (Band 7) to join the Staff Bank, who will support the team, department and organisation to achieve the Trust's mission of "Best care by the best people".

NELFT provided a wide range of community and mental health services to a large population across Goodmayes and North East London. The clinical pharmacy team has an outsourced provision for medicines dispensing and supply, and therefore this role will be required to provide patient facing clinical services across our inpatient units.

We are looking for pharmacists to join this growing team to provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services. We will in return give the opportunity for flexibility in working patterns and hours as well as opportunities to work in our London sites in Mental Health and/or Community Health Services. Job Title and Grade: Specialist Clinical Pharmacist, Band 7

Main duties of the job

  • Being part of a specialist pharmacy team working within mental health services (MHS) and community health services (CHS) ensuring that the changing medicines optimisation and pharmacy needs are being met across NELFT within the inpatient setting and community teams.
  • Providing Clinical Pharmacy Service to both MHS and CHS inpatient wards and community teams
  • Supporting the development and implementation of medicines optimisation initiatives within MHS and CHS. Promote high quality medicine use, effective risk management, clinical governance, and adherence to policies and guidelines concerning medicines use across all settings. They will support getting the best value from medicines spend within this area across all services within a scope of practice.
  • Supporting and contributing to clinical audits.
  • Developing and delivering the pharmacy relevant training packages to assist medical, nursing and pharmacy staff across MHS and CHS.
  • Working closely with quality and patient safety teams to review quality and risk management issues related to pharmacy and medicine management.
  • Providing a clinical ward pharmacy service to MHS and CHS in-patient wards and community teams within NELFT
