Band 6 - Senior Occupational Therapist
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an innovative and dynamic community service. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist who is passionate about service development and providing high standard of patient centred care.You will be working closely with a friendly team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, OT assistants and integrated healthcare assistants who are committed to maintaining independence, and avoiding hospital admission. The successful candidate will be hardworking, reliable and able to use their initiative and work flexibly to respond to the service needs.
Main duties of the job
The Community Treatment Team (CTT) provides rapid response to patients in their own home who are in physical health crisis and at risk of Hospital admission.
We continuously prioritise our caseload to be responsive to the changing daily needs of our service users, communicating closely with other service providers to avoid admission where it is safe to do so and providing onward referrals to other community services including health and social care.As part of CTT we see a wide variety of patients including neurological, orthopaedics, falls, long term conditions, and musculoskeletal allowing staff to get broad experience across different specialities. You will be part of a friendly and approachable team who work well together, and will be well supported by your senior management team.
CTT operates seven days a week 365 days a year. Therapy is mainly provided from 8am to 6pm seven days a week however, we do support flexible working. Weekends are covered on a rota basis, usually one weekend a month. Therapy cover includes bank holidays.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary PeriodThis post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High Cost Area SupplementThis post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £1,192 and a maximum payment of £2,011 per annum pro rata).
