We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Worker who has the following characteristics:

o BTECH/NVQ Level 3 in Child Care or above

o Evidence of working with children and young people

o Willing to undertake further training as required

o Excellent communication skills

Main duties of the job

Main responsibilities of the post:

o To support the delivery of 0-19 Universal Services as well as the Healthy Child Programme

o To support and assistPrimary Care Worker as required

o To participate in the development of skill mix within the 0-19 Universal Services Team

o To participate in Health Education programmes and health promotion activities on a multi-disciplinary basis as agreed by the 0-19 Universal Services

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,108 to a maximum of £5,177).

The Nursery Nurse will work co-operatively as a member of the Health Visiting Team, under the supervision and instruction of the Health Visitor, to assist with clinical and clerical support to the Team in promoting the health and wellbeing of families and children under the age of 5 yearsold.The post-holder will assist the Team to provide support and advice to children, carers and parents to improve health and inclusion, and to tackle inequality of health care taking into consideration levels of deprivation and ethnic diversity within the caseload locality.The post holder will assist the Health Visitor in the delivery of clinical activity in Clinics, Childrens Centres, homes, nurseries and other identified venues.
