Job summary

There has never been a more exciting time to join our team of designing and delivering Adult Mental Health services in Barking & Dagenham! We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and highly skilled Allied Health Professional, Nursing or Social care Professional to join us as Head of Adults Mental Health Service in B&D. The service benefits from two Heads of Service whose roles complement each other to cover a portfolio of adults mental health service. It is envisaged that one role will focus on Place based services and the other on more Borough wide services.

This is an exciting time to join our team to ensure holistic and patient focused care is delivered. The successful applicant will support the Assistant Integrated Care Director in leading the transformation of services within the Community Adults Mental Health Transformation Programme. They will have extensive experience of working within and managing Community Adults Mental Health Services.

This role will provide overall managerial responsibility for the effective operational running of the three Mental Health & Wellness Teams, Early Intervention in Psychosis Service, Talking therapies, Older adults and memory services and Community learning disabilities service.

Main duties of the job

As part of transformation to our services we have created fully integrated multi disciplinary teams that include Primary Care Mental Health Practitioners, Peer Support Workers and Psychologists.

Our Mental Health and Wellness team are innovative, people centered and compassionate multi disciplinary teams which include colleagues from Primary Care, Local Authority and the voluntary sector.

This role will be instrumental in ensuring a coproduced holistic approach and will support teams to work cohesively and improve outcomes of Mental Health Care; they will enable teams to help our patients to identify and implement meaningful solutions to improve their health by using a whole system approach.

In alignment with the Community Mental Health Framework for Adults and Older Adults, we intend for our teams to be trauma informed and person-centred, putting relationships back into the heart of care.

We encourage applicants who are keen to develop their skills in supporting and developing services and who enjoy working autonomously and with a 'Quality Improvement' mind-set. This post is open to both health and social care who registered with either Social Work England, HCPC or NMC.

It is essential you have substantive experience of management within a mental health service.

About us

Starting with NELFTNELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
