Job summary
This is a fixed term locum post for 9 months to cover a period of maternity within an established Easting Disorders service in NELFT.
NELFT will offer doctors a unique opportunity to work in new revolutionary models of care.
NELFT provides a wide range of medical clinical roles, these include:
- Inpatient and Community Mental Health Services spanning all age groups.
- Community Paediatrics
- Inpatient and Community Geriatrics
- Community Audio Vestibular, and
- Community Prosthetic Services
Mental Health Services:
Nationally NELFT is at the forefront of Mental Health Acute Care with well-developed Home Treatment Teams and high-quality inpatient care. NELFT prides itself of having the smallest bed base across London, and the second smallest Nationally. We are front runners in delivering safe services in the least restrictive way, by having well developed Home Treatment Teams. We currently have no out-of-area patient placements.
Adult and older adult mental health services are provided within our London boroughs, including Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Havering and Barking & Dagenham. There services include patient care, Home Treatment Teams, Early intervention in Psychosis teams, Community Recovery Teams, Liaison services, Perinatal services, Learning Disability services, Eating Disorder services and Personality Disorder services. At the front door of all our services are Access ad Assessment Teams.
Main duties of the job
THE POSTHOLDER'S CLINICAL ROLE
The post holder will be a member of the community eating disorder service, which is a service that offers eating disorder assessment and treatment to both adults and children and young people.
The post holder will be required to assess and manage Children and Young people who present with an eating disorder.
The post holder will be a member of the MDT and have support of other team members in the management of these cases.
The post holder will have a key role in liaising with paediatric teams across the Local acute trusts and co-ordinating care of patients during acute paediatric admissions.
As the service is exclusively an outpatient service, the post holder will not hold an inpatient case load, but the post holder will work with specialist eating disorder inpatient units where patients are admitted to aid smooth transition to different levels of care.
The post holder will be expected to attend and participate in MDT team meetings (Currently Wednesday mornings) as well as CPA meetings of cases on their case load.
CAMHS services are provided across all our London boroughs (Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Havering and Barking & Dagenham), Essex and Kent. We are also at the forefront of leading Home Treatment Team service for CAMHS and also deliver integrated Community Services for CAMHS and Paediatrics.
