Job summary
We are looking for an Audiologist to join our team paediatric department within Havering Children's Community Services, NELFT NHS Foundation Trust.
We are a community based department with two sites Harold Wood Clinic, Havering and Child and Family Centre in Barking.We offer a full range of services including referral from Newborn Hearing Screening, Hearing Aid Fittings, Tinnitus support, Auditory Processing Disorder and balance testing for children.
Main duties of the job
The service covers Havering and Brentwood at Harold Wood Clinic as well as Barking and Dagenham at the Child and Family Centre. The successful applicant would ideally work across both sites.
Flexible working patterns will be taken into consideration as well as part time or full time hours.
The successful candidate will be required undertaking hearing assessments for children age over 3 years old. This will require skills in Play Audiometry and objective testing such as Otoacoustic Emissions and Tympanometry. Experience in testing is desirable but will also be provided training to the audiologist that have not done Play Audiometry before.
The successful candidate will also be required to undertake repairs on Phonak and Oticon hearing aids. Experience in this areas would be beneficial but is not essential as training can be provided.
This is an excellent opportunity for any current adult audiologist to develop and expand their skills or for a paediatric audiologist looking for a new team.
We book patinets on RIO patient management system and test hearing using the Interacoustics Affinity Compact.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,108 to a maximum of £5,177).
