An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, innovative, creative, and flexible Peer Support and Lived Experience Lead to use their lived experience, knowledge, and expertise to support the organisation in developing and embedding peer-led recovery-focused services across NELFT's 4 London Boroughs - Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge, and Waltham Forrest.

The post holder will assist the Professional Lead for Peer Support Workers in strategically overseeing and developing peer support functions across the Trust, particularly those within the adult, older adult, and learning disabilities mental health services. It includes leading a team of Peer Support Workers to promote hope, well-being, and recovery through the offer of peer support.

The post holder will support the Professional Lead on strategic and operational delivery of the Peer Support function across the Trust and operational relationships with partners and other stakeholders.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will contribute to the establishment of a sustainable Trust lived experience model and frameworks, expanding the framework of support, development and training for people working in lived experience and peer support roles.

The post holder will lead the development of a high quality, responsive and accessible lived experience workforce within, but not limited, to the community service line.

The post holder will contribute to the lived experience, knowledge, and expertise in supporting the organisation to develop and embed peer-led recovery-focused services.

The post holder will oversee the mobilisation and operational delivery, supervision and evaluation of newly developed roles across the Trust.

The post holder will design and deliver a support framework to enhance the wellbeing at work of lived experience roles.

Probationary Period

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High-Cost Area Supplement -

This post also attracts payment for a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,313 to a maximum of £5,436 p.a. pro rata for part-time).
