Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity join the leadership team to work in a newly developed Staff Support Service that will work across the Trust to offer support, consultation, guidance, and brief therapeutic interventions for staff and teams. This is a part time role and you will provide strategic support and leadership in this highly responsive team. A significant portion of this post will be in person and will involve travelling to various locations around the Trust in response to requests for staff support.

Main duties of the job
- training managers to offer a consistent approach following a patient or staff safety incident.
- offering support to staff following suicides, serious investigation process and legal proceedings
- ensuring a consistent model of supportive/debrief sessions following patient and staff safety incidents.
- offering parity of offer to all staff, including bank and agency workers
- using data to capture the experience of affected staff.
- creating an MDT workplace wellbeing expert reference group
- ensuring there are online resources for staff and managers.
The post holder should demonstrate the ability to work flexibly and autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the Staff Support services policies and procedures.
To utilise evidence-based outcome measures and treatment approaches to ensure a consistent and high level of quality is provided.
To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development, service evaluation and research within the area served by the team / service.
Joining and attending relevant professional and clinically relevant meetings, such as the BPS Faculty of Clinical Health Psychology, the Faculty of Occupational Medicine and the Society of Occupational Medicine is encouraged.
About us
Starting with NELFTNELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Key Responsibilities:
1.To provide a highly skilled psychological service for staff and teams referred to the Staff Support Service involving: brief NICE endorsed individual and team psychological interventions and psychoeducation.
2. To employ core professional skills in using outcome measures and risk assessments.
3. To provide psychoeducation to staff teams and groups for preventative measures (such as resilience building, stress management, mindfulness techniques). These could include one off group sessions, or up to 8 designated sessions.
4.To supervise and facilitate critical incident support for staff.
5.To work flexibly and independently, as a lead autonomous clinical practitioner, within Staff Support services.
6.To offer advice and consultation on staff psychological care to psychology and non-psychology colleagues, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the services policies and procedures.
7.To work with other service offers, including HR, to expand the psychological component of Health and Wellbeing. This will include preventative work that addresses mental health and stress, and promoting health and well-being training events.
