The SET CAMHS YOS role is based in the Mid Essex YOS Team (Chelmsford) to support the YOS Team working with young people presenting with mental health difficulties. The role will be part of a multidisciplinary team and will work closely with social care and education colleagues. The role will be responsible for assessment, treatment and the use of outcome measures to track progress. This post would suit clinicians with an extensive experience in working with young people who present with complexity and offending behaviour working with the wider systems including education, social care and family/carers.
Main duties of the job
We are a friendly and innovative team covering the locality of Mid Essex .The team has an established clinic base in Chelmsford, Maldon, Braintree, Halstead.The role of CAMHS YOS practitioner is to support the development and implementation of a range of groups and 1-1 therapies within the Thrive Model and as indicated by the SET CAMHS and NICE guidance. You would also have a keen interest in developing innovative strategies to support young people and their families.Children and young people who are referred to CAMHS YOS have a range of presentations which would include: early presentation of psychosis, self-harm and suicidal ideation, Conduct and challenging behaviours, other trauma related emotional difficulties, low mood, anxiety, obsessional compulsive disorders and other mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
