Job summary
This post involves carrying out psychological assessments and interventions, offering consultation and supervision to assistant, trainee and Clinical Associate Psychologists (CAPs) and members of the multi-disciplinary teams.
Experience of psychological assessment and treatment of clients with neurodevelopmental health problems within the NHS is essential. A keen interest in working with this client group is essential as well as the ability to apply evidence-based psychological assessment and therapy approaches and work with autonomy and flexibility. . Experience and/or interest in setting up, running and/or co-facilitating groups would be desirable.
The post holder would also join a well-established and well-respected multidisciplinary team consisting of a psychiatrist, Psychologist, occupational therapist and speech and language therapist. We are a friendly, collaborative and supportive team who deliver time-limited and structured individual assessment and psychological interventions to adults with complex difficulties. The team includes approximately four qualified psychologists, with skills in CBT, VR, EMDR and family therapy.

Main duties of the job
- To provide a qualified, high-quality specialist ASD assessment and intervention to individuals, carers, families and groups, in line with best, evidence-based practice and trust care pathways for clients with suspected ASD
- To be responsible for holding and managing a clinical caseload to clients referred to the ASD service and utilising planning and organisational skills, to exercise autonomous assessment, treatment and discharge of clients, within the parameters of the service operational policy and professional responsibility for the planning and prioritising of own workload
- To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual clients and to provide advice to other professions on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management.
- Under supervision, to employ analytical and judgment skills and be responsible for taking clinical management decisions in complex clinical issues.

About us
Starting with NELFTNELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.
