Job summary

An exciting opportunity for a Band 7 specialist eating disorder dietician to join the children's Eating Disorder team in Essex.

We would invite applications from individuals with a mixture of the following experience/qualifications:-

  • Degree / Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics and a minimum of 2 years post registration experience in Dietetics
  • Registered with Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)

Desirable

  • Knowledge of nutrition and dietetics and its application to CAMHS eating disorders .
  • Experience of ASD
  • Experience of eating disorders

The Essex children's Eating Disorder service is seeking to recruit a qualified, enthusiastic specialist dietitian who is interested in ARFID. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary specialist Community Eating Disorder team. The successful applicant will support this innovative multidisciplinary team in delivering the latest evidence based dietetic support to clients , carers and families of adults and children and young people who access the service. The team is committed to delivering the highest quality service to enable service users live the life they want. This opportunity gives the successful candidate the chance to influence the success of this innovative Eating Disorder service.

We are based in Chelmsford but cover all of Essex. You may be required to travel across the locality at times.

Main duties of the job

  • Working closely with the multidisciplinary team in assessing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating a dietetic programme of care for service users with an eating disorder.
  • Managing a caseload with the support of the Multidisciplinary team
  • Interest or experience of assessment of ARFID.
  • Willingness to attend training and develop skills.
  • Ensuing that dietary recommendations are communicated by utilizing the highest level of interpersonal skills to all members of the team and incorporated in the service users overall package of care.
  • Attending weekly MDT meetings to provide expert advice to clinicians regarding the progression of nutrition support which is evidence based. This will involve nutritional assessment to include calculation of nutritional requirements based on the interpretation of biochemistry, anthropometry, clinical condition and other physical parameters.
  • Maintaining professional standards through ongoing continuing professional development, audit and evaluation in accordance with the Health and Care Professions Council Standards and Trust Policies and Procedures.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
