Job summary
The Patient Experience Team is looking to recruit to the post of Patient Experience Coordinator - (Adults). This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and dedicated individual to join our well-established team. The post holder will achieve this by ensuring that patient and carer involvement is at the heart of all Trust activities, that patient experience feedback is used to continually improve services and that volunteering opportunities add quality to our services.
- The post holder will work collaboratively with operational/clinical team to engage and involve service users and carers. They will provide high quality guidance and support to operational leads to achieve a positive outcome for patients/service users.
Main duties of the job
- Supporting implementation of the Patient and Carer Experience Strategy.
- Co-ordinating patient and carer experience activities across the Trust to ensure consistency and high quality feedback to inform operational strategy.
- To develop, build and maintain good relations with key stakeholders, clinical and non-clinical staff across the Trust.
- To work as part of a team, communicating with the Patient Experience team and ensuring a joined-up approach to improve the experience of patients and their families at the Trust.
- Undertake ad-hoc audits relating to patient experience as required.
- To collate and report on Friends and Family Test across the Trust and externally
- To represent the Head of Patient Experience as required at events and meetings.
- To regularly undertake weekly duty coordinator role such as booking involvement representatives on interview panels, patient engagement forums, etc.
- To coordinate and take the minutes or actions of local patient/carer forums
- To travel across Trust to meet teams/services and to support them to ensure that patient and carer feedback and experience are heard.
- To support the Head of Patient Experience in relation to peer support worker (PSW) agenda across the trust.
- To provide appropriate support to patient and carer to complete key mandatory training.
- To work closely with the various chairs of the Strategic Patient & Carer Engagement Panel (SPCEP), Integrated Patient & Carer Engagement Panel (IPCEP), and Young Peoples Network (YPN).

Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,313 to a maximum of £5,436).
