Job summary
NELFT are currently recruiting a Distribution Officer within the Supply Chain Team. The role will cover handling and distribution of all stock under the Supply Chain service. This will be into, out of, and within the central warehouse/ depot to NELFT sites, local acute hospitals and client's homes. This stock will mainly be Home Loans Equipment, PPE and medical equipment but could include other items in the future, including donations, uniform, clinical equipment. There may also be occasional need to support the Transport teams.
You must have experience of working in a supply chain or logistics environment, experience of driving large vans with a clean driving licence. Your previous experience should include working in a busy office and warehouse environment and maintaining and storing electronic records.
Main duties of the job
- Handling & distribution of all stock under Supply Chain service.
- Stock delivery and collection (driving) using advanced driving skills and driving vehicles including large goods vehicles to NELFT sites.
- Stock handling, picking of stock, booking and scheduling deliveries.
- Loading / unloading vehicles using manual handling equipment complying with health & safety, infection control requirements and procedures.
- Communicating with range of people by telephone, email etc.
- Computer/administration - entering data to stock inventory management systems and stock records.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £1,192 and a maximum payment of £2,011 per annum pro rata).
