Orsett Minor Injuries Unit

The Minor Injury Unit at Orsett Hospital is looking to recruit a band 3 Senior Health care assistant to their small and friendly team.

The Minor Injury Unit operates a walk in service 7 days a week, from 10am - 8pm and specializes in acute injury management in a nurse led environment.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work closely with the Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENP's) in delivering high quality care to both adults and children in an urgent care setting. Responsibilities will include:-

delivering wound care both autonomously and under the supervision of the ENP
near patient testing
plastering
responsible for ordering and monitoring stock levels of equipment and pharmacy
health and safety monitoring including environment and equipment checks
audits
covering reception/admin duties as required and being proficient with system 1
involvement in safeguarding adults and children
deep cleaning and stocking the Unit
assisting in emergency situations (the ENP's carry the emergency bleep for the hospital)
responsible for keeping mandatory training up-to-date and own personal development

Probationary Period

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement - London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £1,192 and a maximum payment of £2,011 per annum pro rata).
