Job summary
North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT) provides NHS mental health services for the residents of the London Boroughs of Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Barking & Dagenham and Havering.
A vacancy has arisen in the NELFT Home Treatment Service. The post is primarily based predominantly at Tantallon House, Goodmayes Hospital, Ilford, but covers the London Borough of Waltham Forest, and sits within the Acute & Rehabilitation Directorate of NELFT. NELFT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and to protecting them from the risk of harm. NELFT recognizes its responsibility to ensure that safe working systems are in place for staff working with children and families and staff working with children and adults in their care.
Main duties of the job
The post is full-time and provides 10 Programmed Activities per week - 8 PAs for direct clinical care and up to 2 PAs for supporting professional activity.
While there are no on-call requirements attached to this post, opportunities are available to participate in the extensive out-of-hours on-call rota.
NELFT has excellent relationships with all stakeholders, robust governance structures and excellent systems of data collection and performance monitoring. As a Foundation Trust, NELFT retains any surplus generated for investment in services.

The NELFT Home Treatment Service is well-established within the NELFT Acute & Rehabilitation Directorate and works closely with the Acute Trust (BHRUT).

.The post offers excellent opportunities for Speciality Doctors and Associate Specialists within NELFT. The successful applicant will be provided with formal monthly consultant supervision, in addition to ad hoc daily supervision. Peer support will be available via the excellent peer group network across the Trust. There are ample opportunities for both internal and external CPD activities. NELFT has recently appointed a CESR mentor who would be able to guide the post holder in gathering the required supporting evidence to make a successful CESR application. Support would also be available to the post holder should they wish to pursue the MRCPsych qualification through the Royal College of Psychiatrists. NELFT has a well-established medical education department that organises a weekly afternoon CPD session which is well attended.
We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible candidates who demonstrate leadership abilities and are committed to working in a multidisciplinary setting.
The candidate should be suitably qualified, including eligibility for Section 12 approval.
