Consultant Community Paediatrician
Full Time 10 PAs
The trust is looking for a dynamic, experienced and enthusiastic Consultant Community Paediatrician for Havering, to join a team of 3 other Consultant Community Paediatricians working within an integrated specialist children's service in a progressive Community Paediatric department.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate would be expected to contribute to Neuro-disability and safeguarding services and lead roles would include Named Doctor for Safeguarding .The post will be supported by the Designated doctor for safeguarding, clinical lead for Community Paediatrics and Associate Medical director.

The Named doctor will work within the Community Paediatric team at The Acorn centre working closely with Named Doctors in other localities and Named Nurses within NELFT to:
Support all activities necessary to ensure that the organisation meets its responsibilities to safeguard/protect children and young people and competencies for heath care staff.

Essential
- At least 2 years General Professional Training in paediatrics
- 5 years Higher Specialist Training, including 3 years in Community Paediatrics
Desirable
- Specialist experience in named safeguarding role
Skills
Essential
- Experience of neurodisability and neurodevelopmental paediatrics.
- Experience of examination of children where there are concerns of emotional, physical abuse and neglect
- Approved training in Child Protection / Safeguarding at Level 4 of the Intercollegiate guidelines
- Level 3 competencies in the Intercollegiate guidelines Knowledge, skills and competences for Looked After Children
- Willingness to undertake/ update level 4 Children's Safeguarding Training
- Working in multidisciplinary team and with multiagency partners
- Working with families living with significant levels of deprivation and understanding of working in a multicultural community
Desirable
- Training in objective developmental assessment e.g. Griffith Developmental Scales.
- Training in Autism assessment e.g. DISCO or ADI/ADOS/3DI
- Undertaken PET courses
- Training in forensic medical examination for CSA
Qualifications / registration
Essential
- On the GMC specialist register or within 6 months of CCT.
- MRCP, MRCPCH or equivalent
- CCT in CCH, or demonstrate Level 3 competencies in all areas of CCH
- 5 years higher specialist training including 3 years Community Paediatrics
Desirable
- Higher degree e.g. MSc, MD or other higher degree DCH, DCCH, MBA or other relevant diplomas
- CCT in Neurodisability
