We are recruiting Consultant Community Paediatricians to join a large dynamic, community paediatric team in North East London Foundation Trust. This is an exciting time to work in a very diverse region where service development and innovation are priorities for health service commissioners and providers.

Main duties of the job

The Post holder is expected to provide consultant input and take on a lead role within Neuro-disability service and in Medical education and Quality Improvement / Audit.

The job plan will include clinical triage, neuro-disability clinics and clinical safeguarding as well as supervision and training of junior staff. The post holder will be encouraged to develop a special interest depending on their experience and interests. Successful candidates can be supported to develop within lead roles, given the large number of experienced Community Paediatricians within NELFT and a robust supervision and training structure.

The potential post-holder should have relevant experience in quality improvement and service development, clinical management and leadership skills.

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent standard of literacy and numeracy
  • MRCP, MRCPCH or equivalent On the GMC specialist register or within 6 months of CCT. CCT in CCH, or demonstrate Level 3 competencies in all areas of CCH 5 years higher specialist training including 3 years Community Paediatrics

Desirable

  • Higher degree e.g. MSc, MD or other higher degree DCH, DCCH, MBA or other relevant diplomas CCT in Neurodisability
