Job summary

We are looking for enthusiastic CBT therapists and Psychologists to provide therapy for clients referred to Talking Therapies Barking & Dagenham IAPT within the framework of an IAPT service model. Good knowledge of disorder specific CBT interventions for common mental health disorders in primary care is essential for the role. We are also eager to attract Psychologists and CBT therapists trained in other IAPT modalities such as Behavioural Couples Therapy (BCT), Couples Therapy for Depression (CTfD), Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT), Counselling for Depression (CfD), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). In addition to individual therapy, there are opportunities within this role to develop and deliver evidence-based group activities and treatment for clients with common mental health presentations.

Main duties of the job

We are a dynamic and empowering team and as such post holders will be expected to work well within a team setting and should be able to deliver an autonomous service as part of the role, operating within recognised professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures. Post holders will be expected to work within the service's business hours (8am-8pm) and offer a minimum of one evening per week, therefore flexibility regarding working hours is necessary.

We actively encourage a team approach and are interested in developing intensive treatments. We offer third wave CBT protocols and seek new staff members committed to developing interventions that will enhance the wide variety of psychotherapeutic IAPT models used in Barking and Dagenham.
