Job summary
1. To maintain a high standard of chair-side care in keeping with current Hospital Policies and Procedures.
2. To maintain a good public image, both caring and professional.
3. To create good staff/patient relationships.
4. To liaise with other members of the team to maintain the quality service provided by the Department.
Main duties of the job
1. Organise and run clinics under direction of departmental sister.
2. Assist surgeons with all minor surgery and any other procedures which may be carried out.
3. Receive and prepare patients for treatment.
4. Relay relevant information to surgeon/patient in a clear and precise manner.
5. Accurately record all relative information regarding the patient and treatment given and advice on follow-up appointment(s).
6. Supervise patient following treatment and impart any information from the surgeon regarding after care of mouth.
7. Ensure that all materials required are available.
8. It is the responsibility of all staff to recognise their role in maintaining a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff to minimise the risk of avoidable Healthcare Associated Infection. Employees are responsible for ensuring that they are fully aware of the Trust's Infection Prevention and Control policies and the post holder will undertake infection control training on an annual basis. All staff will be competent in ANTT and practise against these standards.
