Job summary
To perform work activities which may occasionally be complex and/or non-routine. Responsible for testing and fault-finding on engineering plant and equipment (Electrical distribution, power and lighting, standby generator plant, catering equipment, electrical lifting aids and beds and nurse call systems. Basic knowledge in principles and safe isolations for mechanical systems is expected from the postholder.
Undertaking maintenance, repairs, minor and major improvement and capital work across the Trust as directed by manager, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.
Main duties of the job
Meet the Trust's performance target for attending to and completing work orders within the time frame allocated (as per the Key Performance Indicators & Service Level Agreement for Estates Maintenance).
Responding to and completing work orders within the time frame allocated and meeting the Trust's customer service standards and expectations.
Competent with use of a PDA for opening (starting) and closing (completing/signing off) work orders electronically.
To be prepared to work in hazardous areas taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment.
Carry out planned preventive maintenance inspections and testing in accordance with Trust maintenance schemes and procedures.
Actively participate in the operation of the Trust labour management systems, completing all records required (including completion of all job dockets and time records)
Work occasional planned overtime to carry out works as required by management.
Undertake essential repair works and general maintenance activities under the instruction of the Estates Maintenance Supervisor - MVH
To liaise with Estates Maintenance Supervisor - MVH regarding plant or equipment failures and to request the supply of goods and/or services as necessary.
