Job summary

We are seeking a Band 8b Human Resources Business Partner to join our People and Organisational Development Team. It is an exciting time to join our team as we drive forward the Trust's People Strategy.

Your focus will be on understanding the strategic and operational people issues in your areas of responsibility, and on facilitating and implementing the expert solutions required to achieve the objectives in those areas. In facilitating solutions, you will work closely with the expert functions across the wider department, including the Employee Relations Team, Recruitment Team, Medical Staffing, Temporary Staffing, Workforce Information, and Learning and Organisational Development.

We would love to hear from you if you are a proactive HR professional who is able to demonstrate a clear track record for delivering best practice, both operationally and strategically, within a large organisation. You will need to have experience of working within a Business Partnering model and be able to demonstrate an ability to engage proactively with stakeholders.

The post involves hybrid working, with 2 to 3 days required onsite. We are based at our Mount Vernon Hospital site, but the post holder will need to be able to travel to our Hillingdon Hospital site, as and when required. There are cross-site transport links available.

Main duties of the job

  • Developing and contributing to workforce strategies and plans that support Divisional and Trust-wide business objectives in line with the People Strategy
  • Developing the people management capabilities of managers, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to handle staff management responsibilities;
  • Taking the lead on specialist/projects areas as directed by the Deputy Director of People & Organisational Development
  • Supporting the development of the HR Consultants to provide a proactive and effective HR service, ensuring the on-going development of the team.
  • Develop excellent working relationships and stakeholder engagement at all levels within designated Divisions to enable the effective diagnosis of people issues and the development of solutions
  • Ensure the People Strategy is communicated and understood within designated Divisions and that its interventions are implemented

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services, including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics, and maternity services. The Trust's services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit, and outpatient clinics.
