Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Ward Administrator to join our Fleming Escalation Ward at The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will work closely with nursing and medical staff to ensure a professional and efficient standard of care is delivered on the ward. This is a busy role and key duties will include all aspects of a receptionist role for the ward, including registering patients, admitting to the ward, discharging and transferring, requesting notes and booking transport.
You should be enthusiastic, friendly, and a team player, capable of managing and prioritising your workload.Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required for this role, as it involves dealing with patients, staff, and visitors. A good standard of general education is also essential. Ideally, the post holder will have previous relevant experience.

Main duties of the job
- Ensures the ward runs effectively on a day to day basis by providing a comprehensive administrative service to (under direct supervision of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse) the following areas: support services, ward environment, information technology and communication.
- Provides a point of contact for all ward enquiries managing, politely and appropriately, verbal and written enquiries from patients, carers, family and health care professionals ensuring appointment and timely action.
- Ensure that accurate and up to date information is inputted to the PAS system relating to ward activity adhering to Data Quality standards.
- Answers telephone, takes messages and provide information as directed.
- Stock and non-stock ordering and receiving to the ward.
