Job summary

We are looking for confident and motivated Dietitian to join our Dietetic and Speech Therapy Team at The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The Hillingdon Hospital is a busy district general hospital in North West London and has a diverse patient population. It is situated close to Heathrow Airport and Brunel University and within a 10 minute commute by public transport to Uxbridge Town Centre which has excellent transport links to central London. The Trust has on-site accommodation and a crche.

Our friendly team consists of 13 Dietitians, 7 Speech & Language Therapists and 3 administrators.

This new created role within the paediatric dietetic team is a unique opportunity for a band 5 dietitian with experience of working in the acute setting. The post holder will be supported and trained in the specialist area of paediatric dietetics. The clinical caseload will include providing a high quality, evidence-based paediatric dietetic service to the general paediatric ward and to paediatric outpatient clinics.

Main duties of the job

You will be supported by a senior dietitian and will have the opportunity to shadow specialist areas such as diabetes and neonatal. The post holder will be involved in educating staff on matters relating to nutrition and catering and after 6 months experience will become involved in supervision of student dietitians on placement. The post holder will be expected to manage their caseload independently and will be involved in department wide projects and service improvements.

The Dietetic and Speech Therapy team is committed to continuing professional development, providing monthly coaching conversations and professional development sessions. We encourage staff as part of their annual appraisal to have an active involvement in audit and service improvement projects. There are excellent opportunities and guidance for ongoing personal development. There is a well-established borough-wide Dietetic network who offers peer support.
