Job summary

To manage the day-to-day operation of the stores for the Estates Maintenance Department.

To ensure that all goods and materials are ordered, received (delivered), accounted for (logged), stored or issued in strict accordance with Trust's policies and procedures.

To provide an accountable, cost-effective and efficient stores service that strictly adheres to the standing financial instructions (SFI) and standing orders (SO) of the Trust.

Work towards, attain, maintain and enhance the Trust's "CARES" values.

Main duties of the job

Prepare formal order requisitions for stock and non-stock parts, spares, components, materials and equipment and/or the replenishment of stock items, all to meet the needs of the Estates Maintenance Department, strictly in accordance with official procedures, liaising as necessary with suppliers and specialists.

Ensure details of all goods ordered are accounted for on the Stores Item Order Tracker and stock is updated on the Trust's Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software.

Ensure that goods obtained are of the highest quality available for the most economic price.

Receive and be the authorised signatory for deliveries, ensuring the deliver details and delivery notes/documents are accounted for on the Stores Item Order Tracker, check and assess condition and if found not fit, return these to the originating supplier, completing required documentation as necessary.

Obtain manufacturer's data sheets for stock items and ensure an electronic copy is stored on the Trust's shared network.

Prepare COSHH Assessment Summary sheets. (In cases of one off special purchases, retain data sheets on file, for record purposes).

Issue parts, spares, components, materials and equipment, ensuring all items are correctly requisitioned and that the relevant paperwork is completed in all cases according to the Trust's policies and procedures.
