To strategically and operationally manage the education, training, and development of all technical and support staff within the department.
To establish and monitor a comprehensive training infrastructure for technical staff and support workers across the department.
To strategically and operationally manage the technical and support staff involved in the provision of the Trust's medicines management service, ensuring a robust service is in place.
Main duties of the job
To promote and develop a culture of continuous learning and development within the pharmacy team, ensuring training quality through regular reviews and feedback.
To maintain and strengthen links with educational providers to support ongoing development
To collaborate and support the development of nurse medicines management technicians (NMMTs), where required
To be responsible for the recruitment and selection of pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians (PTPTs) and assist in the recruitment of pharmacy support worker apprentices alongside service leads.
To serve as the Educational Programme Director (EPD), overseeing the management and delivery of Level 2 and Level 3 apprenticeship (and / or non-apprenticeship) training programmes. To act as an educational supervisor where appropriate.
To ensure the provision of a comprehensive Pharmacy service that complies with relevant legislation, good practices, and standard operating procedures.
To work closely with the trust's apprenticeship lead to manage and support apprenticeships within pharmacy at NMUH.
To represent pharmacy at internal and external educational governance and development meetings to ensure alignment with regional and national educational standards.
