Job summary
The Consultant Rheumatologists, Dr Naveen Bhadauria, Dr Amy Macbrayne and Dr Dev Mukerjee provide a unified Rheumatological service. There is an established Year 1 registrar training post linked with the AMU team (3 sessions per week plus ward cover) and an innovative GP training post based in outpatient clinics (3 sessions per week)
There are 3 clinical nurse specialists based in the department.There is a dedicated Rheumatology pharmacist responsible for DMARD and Biologics prescriptions. The post holder will be expected to work closely with the nurses. There are Biologics assessment clinics, monitoring clinics and virtual telephone clinics and a dedicated patient helpline run by the specialist nurses.
Main duties of the job
Following the implementation of the Barnet, Enfield and Haringey clinical strategy, the department of Rheumatology has also seen significant expansion in workload. We are seeking a highly motivated consultant colleague to provide excellent acute care and develop new service pathways for this cohort of patients.

This post is working within the Rheumatology department on a 7.5 PA contract. .
The post holder will be doing a 7.5 PA Rheumatology job plan which will be job planned over 4 days of the week. The Rheumatology post will consist of 3 rheumatology clinics per week. These will all be face to face clinics. There will also be an alternative week Virtual Clinic.
Acute referral activity for rheumatology in ED, SDEC (Ambulatory care) and inpatient wards is very busy. The post holder will be expected to contribute to the care of acute patients attending the hospital with rheumatological conditions. This activity will be clearly timetabled and is shared with the other consultants across the week.

- Full GMC registration
- Full MRCP or equivalent
- CCST/CCT or equivalent in Rheumatology and acute or general medicine and on the specialist register, or within 6 months of CCT date at the time of interview.
Desirable
- Working towards a post graduate qualification

- Experience in Ambulatory Care
