Main duties of the job

As a Domestic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the hospital wards. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure a clean and safe environment for all patients, staff, and visitors, adhering strictly to NHS Cleaning Standards 2021. You will work closely with other hospital staff to support infection control measures and maintain a pleasant, sanitary space in patient rooms, communal areas, and other designated areas within the hospital.

The Domestic Services Operative will undertake a range of cleaning duties throughout all areas of an acute hospital to a high standard thus enhancing the patient's experience by ensuring that both the clinical and administrative environments are clean, well-presented, and maintained in a way which maximizes the patient's sense of comfort, safety, and well-being.

About us

North Mid is part of North Central London integrated care system - consisting of the NHS and Local authority organisations in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. As with other ICS's, we are working increasingly closely with partners and indeed many of our financial and performance objectives are measured at this system level. Whilst all organisations remain as standalone, statutory bodies we have an ICS infrastructure for making shared decisions and agreeing shared approaches.

We are proud of our staff and want to ensure their training allows them to provide excellent clinical care. We are also a training unit for medical students from UCL and St George's University Grenada, and for nursing and midwifery students from Middlesex and City Universities.
