The Enfield Community children /young people and family services functions within the North Mid in the community Division which is part of North Middlesex University Hospital Trust . We put our Children, Young People and Families, staff and community at the heart of everything we do.
In the context of the changing healthcare landscape, in particular the national move towards CYP integrated care, we are proud of the steps forward we are making to ensure this approach to physical and mental wellness is a reality for the populations we serve. In Enfield, we provide a full range of children /young people community health services and work collaboratively with our Universal services to ensure seamless, holistic care to those within the community who access our services. We are also working within strong integrated partnerships across the local borough particularly Parent/Carer Network ,the local authority and provider Trusts within North Central London Integrated Care System

Main duties of the job
The main objective of the role is to support integrated delivery models across children's services both universal /targeted services and services for complex families to ensure that delivery is wrapped round the need of the child and family. To be accountable for the delivery of CYP Therapies across Speech and Language, Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and children continuing care -Play and Bereavement.
There is flexibility for the post holder to carry a clinical caseload for a day a week
To work alongside key colleagues to develop appropriate and constructive relationships both within the organisation and across the Partnership.
To ensure that appropriate methods are used to ensure the inclusion of CYPF perspectives within service improvements.
Develop a working environment and culture that actively improves health, safety and security.
Report review and monitor complaints and clinical incidents and undertake clinical audit in conjunction with care group managers, Clinical Leads and work collaboratively to develop strategies around prevention of future occurrences.
Ensure the formal dissemination of learning in order to inform policy and practice.
Take responsibility for ensuring that patient experiences of the services within remit are positive.
Lead business planning for services within area of responsibility.
Carry out demand and capacity work to ensure services are sustainable.

The Children and Family service which are part of North Mid in the Community includes Community Consultant Paediatricians, Dietetics, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Special school and Youth justice Nursing, Clinical Psychology for children under 6 years, Childrens Continuing Care, Specialist Play and Bereavement, Childrens Immunisation, CYP Safeguarding, Looked After Children Nursing and Health Visiting /School Nursing servicesThe service works closely with Primary Care -Local Authority -NMHT clinical divisions and has a strong partnership with the Parent Carer Network as well as North Central London Enfield Division commissioners.Service portfolio may change in accordance with quality initiatives and the development of integrated care pathways.
Duties and Responsibilities:
People Management
To provide leadership in the development of an Integrated Community CYP Service and the agreed service plan, role modelling and creating an environment for the Trust values to be fully embedded.
To provide operational leadership to the integrated care group ensuring clear communication of the service values, priorities and expectations to ensure the full engagement of a broad range of staff groups in delivering services of the highest quality.
To seek assurance that the service has in place effective arrangements for staff appraisals, training and continued professional development.
Ensure staff management arrangements are in line with HR procedures and policies within the Trust to ensure good practice in recruitment, appraisal and performance management and other policies are maintained working collaboratively with the Clinical Leads and Operations Managers
Support clinical leads in the coaching, mentoring and development of staff including meeting NICE and professional quality standards. Ensure Clinical Leads deliver an advisory &supervisory role / monitor professional standards, monitor clinical activity quality standards and maintain an overview of clinical staff across the care groups and the development of evidenced informed care pathways taking a lead on quality initiatives such as trans disciplinary care pathways.
Together with Clinical Leads continually review the workforce ensuring it reflects the service plans and priorities implementing skill mix review, role redesign and changes to workforce transformation initiatives as required.
To create a culture in which innovations can flourish and provide inspiration so staff can deliver high quality care
To actively support continuous professional development of staff in partnership with clinical leads and safely devolve decision making at the point of care delivery promoting open engagement and extended roles such as Lead Professional and Health coordinating roles
To manage any disciplinary or performance situations that arise within the service. To performance manage staff effectively and in line with Trust policies. To undertake delegated performance or capability investigations as required.
To work with clinical leads to ensure that all team members receive appropriate supervision, annual appraisal and that professional and high clinical standards are maintained.
To work with clinical leads and care group managers to establish an effective recruitment and retention plan together with the Associate Director of Therapies AHPs Strategic Lead for the Trust
To monitor local compliance to professional, mandatory and statutory training and take action where targets are not met.
Training and Development
Maintain an effective learning environment for the team and all students on placement.
Follow professional guidelines and Codes of Practice as laid down by the NMC and HCPC and relevant professional bodies /Regulatory frameworks. To lead implementation of local clinical protocols founded on robust evidence base.
To attend all relevant mandatory training as and when required to do so.
Finance & Budget Management
The postholder will be responsible for budget and physical resources under the direction of the Head of Services who will retain Service level accountability
To work with the management team to achieve financial targets including realistic cost improvement programmes.
Work alongside Trust colleagues from other operational and corporate services to identify business opportunities and maximise the integrated service offer, promoting positive relationships with commissioners and external stakeholders.
Ensure that the teams within remit delivers in line with commissioned activity and planned income.

Care Group Management
Provide leadership and direction, supporting and engaging direct line reports in the management and delivery of services, Responsible for the visibility of leadership, knowledge of services and specific issues within the portfolio of services and for upholding and role modelling the values, behaviours and standards expected of all employees in the Trust.
To ensure adequate capacity within plans to enable achievement of targets and waiting times reduction targets in negotiation with other commissioners as necessary.
To lead change management programmes within the Care Group ensuring completion on time, to budget and quality targets ensuring successful implementation.
To be responsible for ensuring Early Warning systems are embedded, that all agreed standards and performance measures are met within timescales and that there is constantly evidenced service improvement, risk management and mitigations including monitoring progress against objectives.
Lead CYP service specific transformation and service redesign programmes where required within Patient First Methodologies and support the development of the service and the teams within it.
