Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and adaptable Pharmacy Technician with good communication and interpersonal skills to take on this challenging post. Your role will involve working with Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians on providing and developing our Procurement/Stores and Homecare services.

To supervise sending released orders electrically or by scanning to the appropriate wholesaler or supplier according to agreed contracts

. To liaise with the Chief Pharmacy Technician - Lead Procurement and Pharmacy Medicines management system and obtain senior pharmacist authorisation prior to ordering stock off contract

Duties and responsibilities:1. The post holder will support the management of the procurement and distribution ofpharmaceutical products for North Middlesex Hospital NHS Trust.2. To respond to unpredictable working patterns including staff sickness/accidents, drug recalls, bedcrisis, major incidents, errors and complaints.3. To carry out the duties of the Lead Pharmacy Technicians in their absence. To coordinatedistribution and the workflow in homecare4. To manage, support and direct the work of all Procurement, Store and Homecare rotational teammembers. Ensure invoicing and homecare standard operating procedures are followed andstandards are maintained.5. To liaise with pharmacy invoicing office and Trust Accounts Payable teams to ensure theoutstanding invoices are paid in a timely manner6. To manage an accurate record of outstanding stock orders for wards and departments.Ensure daily stock check are completed and any discrepancies are investigation and resolved soall balances match in all pharmacy locationsPROCUREMENT1. To create, amend & release orders for required drugs each day for all allocated Pharmacylocations within the Pharmacy department, including adjusting orders appropriately including forseasonal fluctuations.2. To manage long term delays in the receipt of stock from suppliers by ensuring the Medicines.3. Send released orders electrically or by scanning to the appropriate wholesaler or supplier4. To manage the process for out of stock drugs or partly supplied orders, including sourcing,5.   • s Holds an NVQ Pharmacy Service Level 3 /with accredited underpinning knowledge (BTEC in Pharmaceutical sciences) or equivalent.
  • Registered with the GPhC as a pharmacy technician

Desirable

  • London Pharmacy Education & Training/CPPE - Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification or working towards.
  • London Pharmacy Education & Training - Accreditation in Medicines Management (AIMM) qualification / HEE Medicines Optimisation Program (MOP) or working towards
  • London Pharmacy Education & Training - Accreditation in Training Skills (ATS) qualification / Pharmacy Training Company - Educational Supervisor / Practice Supervisor or working towards

Experience

Essential

  • Portfolio demonstrating competence of previous and current pharmacy practice skills, knowledge and CPD.
  • Post qualification experience of hospital pharmacy.
