Would you like to become part of the Accident & Emergency Team within the North Middlesex Hospital?NMUH are a trauma unit sitting in the London trauma network.
Applications are invited for an experienced Emergency Medicine staffing to join our busy Emergency Department at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. The ideal candidate will be available start as soon as possible on a substantive basis within this busy Trust in North London. We have two permanent positions available with four further positions available for 6 month contracts to cover gaps in the rota from our national training slots.
Applicants must have full GMC registration with a licence to practice and have completed the UK foundation program or equivalent. The post will not attract training recognition, but the post holder will work alongside and receive similar relevant training to those on the training programme - who are either GPST or ACCS trainees.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to provide ST1-2 grade cover on a rotational shift basis throughout Emergency Medicine; and, participate in the on-call SHO rota. Expected to supervise the FY1s in service delivery, inpatients, and day services. And, provide a rapid response to A&E to facilitate the 4 hour trolley-wait target - during the on call shift will be available solely for emergency duties.

North Middlesex ED is one of the busiest single-site hospital emergency and urgent care departments in the country with almost 160,000 attendances last year. This was split on a 50% basis between Type 1 attendances and Urgent Care (incl. Minor Injuries).
