Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced Band 4 Registered Nurse Associate, to join the Enfield District Nursing service. The Registered Nursing Associate are to provide a high standard holistic, person-centred nursing care, monitor care and treatment to an identified group of patients under the direction of Registered Nurse.
They are accountable and work independently - within the remit of the role - to assess, plan, implement and evaluate; undertaking aspects of care delegated by registered nurses.
They are equipped with the appropriate knowledge, skills, and behaviours relevant to employment, they will work to a nationally recognised code of conduct defined by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) to which they are registered.
Main duties of the job
- Ensuring that a service user centred multi-disciplinary approach to care is present
- Assess, plan, implement and monitor care in keeping with evidence-based practice.
- Ensure timely referrals to a registered nurse when any actions, care or treatment is required.
- To take an active role in direct service user care and role model to junior staff.
- To provide guidance to junior staff relevant to clinical speciality
- Ensuring that a high standard of practice is maintained in relation to the detention of mentally ill clients under the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. Ensuring that least restrictive practices are promoted within individual care.
- Ensuring that care reflects individual and cultural needs considering any reasonable adjustments that may be required
- Ensure that the service provides holistic care that incorporates excellence in physical, mental health care management and general wellbeing.
- Understand and apply the aims and principles of health promotion, protection and improvement and the prevention of ill health when engaging with people
- Recognising and acting upon safeguarding concerns
- Ensuring that all practices are within the guidelines set out by the NMC and other professional groups and are in accordance with Trust policies, Trust 3 Key objectives, core behaviours, and the Trust Nursing Strategy.
About us
North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust is a medium sized District General Hospital based in Edmonton in Enfield, North London. We serve a diverse multicultural population largely from the London boroughs of Enfield and Haringey.
Over the last decade we have rebuilt almost all the hospital and now have facilities that we are proud to work in. We employ over 3,500 staff, more than half of whom live locally. We encourage apprenticeships from the local community and work closely with our local Health Watch.
We are primarily an emergency led hospital with more than 90% of our bed days being used for patients admitted via our emergency and ambulatory units. As well as offering everything you would expect from a major acute hospital, we have a number of tertiary services treating patients with HIV and Sickle Cell Disease and a large cancer and radiotherapy service. We also run our local community Sexual Health Clinics.
The Community division comprises of the 0-19 Service, Health Visitor, School Nursing services, that deliver the Healthy Child Programme as well as a BCG clinic for targeted babies and the Canterbury ward, that supports the acute wards. Also, they have the District Nursing Service division that delivers adult care in Enfield Community.
