The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust (RNOHT) is a specialist orthopaedic tertiary centre and admits patients from all over the UK and abroad.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the RNOH, to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join our safeguarding team as a specialist safeguarding children advisor.
The successful candidate must have experience of working with children, young people and families and a good knowledge of safeguarding children and young people is essential.
Working with the Named Professionals the successful candidate will:
demonstrate passion in promoting and embedding safeguarding across the Trust
provide safeguarding advice and support to Trust employees with regard to issues relating to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people;
provide training to all staff within the Trust, in line with mandatory and statutory safeguarding requirements.
provide high quality safeguarding supervision to staff through a range of activities including one to one, group, peer forum and reflective discussions
contribute to the policy development and safeguarding audits

Main duties of the job
Provide a highly visible, easily accessible presence to RNOH employees (both at Stanmore and Bolsover Street sites) in order to support their safeguarding duties.
To support and advise all professionals and support staff within the Trust regarding safeguarding children matters, in conjunction with the Named Professionals.
To provide safeguarding children advice and support to all staff within the Trust, to promote the embedding of the principles of safeguarding into every day professional practice, and to empower them to fulfil their safeguarding duties.
Work collaboratively with the safeguarding adult colleagues to embedthe 'Think Family' approach.
Provide expert advice to Trust staff on a day-to-day management of children and young people where there are safeguarding concerns. This may be by responding to incidents via telephone, email enquiries or face to face discussions.
Deputise for (with the support from the Named Nurse Safeguarding Adults) the Named Nurse Safeguarding Children.
