Job summary
Assist in the provision of care to patients, supporting and being supervised by a registered nurse. Assists qualified staff by undertaking personal care duties for patients. Will help to prepare patients for theatre. Reports patient's condition to qualified staff.
Full range of manual and clerical duties. Will be required to maintain the orderliness and hygiene and safety of the ward/departmental environment.
Main duties of the job
o Maintain adequate levels of stock, equipment and materials and facilitate the efficient, effective use of resources; report when availability falls below an acceptable standard or level
o Pass on constructive views and ideas for improving services to ward sister/charge nurse
o Ensure a welcoming, caring and safe environment is provided for the patient and their family/visitors/carers
o Aware of and maintains required standard of care
o Ensure that patient areas are kept clean and tidy
o Comply with Trust/local policies and procedures o Carry out duties and responsibilities with regard to the Trust's Equal Opportunity policy
Undertake administrative and clerical tasks associated with patient care to facilitate the smooth running of the ward/department
