Job summary

As a research technician you will be responsible for fulfilling the laboratory and logistical needs of the RNOH Implant Science Centre to help ensure the successful running of research projects.

You will also be actively involved in supporting research tasks for various projects. This is a Band 5 post based at the Stanmore site, for one day/week (7.5 hours)

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the safe transfer of retrieved explants from collaborating hospitals, together with clinical/medical imaging data.

Ensuring explants are decontaminated upon receipt and that medical imaging data is segmented for further analysis.

To maintain a close working relationship with collaborating surgeons, radiologists, scientists and other academics in order to ensure the successful running of research projects.

1. To manage the transfer of retrieved implants to the RNOH. To assist in optimising the workflow protocols to ensure retrieved implants are received safely and in a timely manner.
