Job summary
This is a new role as an apprentice to be registered Pharmacy Technician both in primary and secondary care are the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and a partner based in primary care (to be decided).
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone interested in a pharmacy career to 'earn while they learn' in different NHS settings to complete a qualification and register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician.

Main duties of the job
Pharmacy Technicians have a variety of roles which you will undertake during your training.
You will be supported by an experienced Pharmacy Technician Training Team in both the hospital and GP practice.
For your apprenticeship there is a programme of study days and on the job training. You will rotate around the various areas of hospital pharmacy such as dispensary, distribution and clinical areas.
You will also spend approximately 50% of the 2-year programme on placement in primary care organisation supporting the pharmacists and the team with prescription queries and medicines reconciliation in care homes.
You will be required to travel for this role, to either the GP practice or the hospital. The variety of the training programme is something current apprentices appreciate as well as the exciting career opportunities registration as a Pharmacy Technician brings.
