Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to lead the Patient Outcome Data (POD) team at RNOH.

You will be responsible for the day to day running of the POD team and their associated processes and targets. You will lead on ensuring the team is efficiently and effectively managing patient data collection and responding to queries from patients. You will manage the staff on a day to basis and also ensure team compliance with mandatory training, appraisals and also manage sickness and performance where appropriate. You will be a key link between the administrative team and management structure and will report regularly on your team's current status including any improvements that may be required. You will build good working relationships with the clinical teams and liaise with them regularly to ensure a high quality patient experience.

Main duties of the job

To lead the Patient Outcome Data (POD) team in the collection of outcome data from RNOH patients using the Trust's chosen software packages. The job includes encouraging all aspects of data quality, supporting clinicians in Outpatients and Theatres settings, communicating with patients at all points of the care pathway to persuade them to participate and managing a team.

Knowledge

Essential

  • GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C or higher
  • Creating reports including word processing and meaningful tables, diagrams and charts
  • Knowledge of data protection and confidentiality issue

Desirable

  • Certificate in Team Leadership
  • Communication training/qualification attended
  • Sound understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology

Experience

Essential

  • Experience in the use of digital technology to underpin management processes in an organisation
  • Able to communicate in a vareity of ways including report writing, face to face and on the phone. This includes legible handwriting
  • Experience managing or leading a team

Desirable

  • Ability to approach technical problems logically, identify root causes of problems
  • Provide support to colleagues and other staff following stressful contacts
