Job summary
We are seeking to appoint a paediatric orthopaedic surgeon with a sub specialist interest and expertise in neuromuscular disorders.
This full-time post is split between the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust (RNOH) and the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust (RFL). It involves an equal split of programmed activities with clinics at the Royal Free Hampstead (RFH) site; and clinics and operating at the RNOH Stanmore site. There is currently no on-call commitment. The successful candidate will be a member of the wider multi-disciplinary team and be instrumental in further developing our combined services and ensuring smooth pathways for all our patients; and join the 24 consultant orthopaedic surgical team at RFL and the 7 consultant orthopaedic surgeons in the paediatric/ limb reconstruction unit at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The existing group of paediatric orthopaedic surgeons at the RNOH have a wide range of interests and we envisage that the new appointee will complement the existing skill mix and also bring in specific expertise and interest in neuromuscular orthopaedics with an aim to expand and develop these multidisciplinary services across all sites.
The post-holder will also work closely alongside the existing paediatric orthopaedic surgeon at RFH.
As well as being an excellent clinician you will be able to a good team worker with the ability to motivate and communicate with a wide range of colleagues both medical and non-medical.
You will have experience of research and audit and show the ability to influence and improve services.
