Job summary

The RFL Clinical Practice Groups (CPG) are a trust-wide clinical pathway development programme developing standardized approaches to treating patients based on the shared experiences of clinical teams. The Cancer CPG covers diagnostic and treatment pathways for multiple tumour sites across the Royal Free London group.

The CPG Project Manager is a member of the core CPG team and will work on delivering clinical and operational improvements for cancer pathways. The postholder will work with the cancer Programme Manager, CPG leadership and cancer leadership team on dedicated improvement projects.

We are looking for a dynamic individual with experience in any of the following areas: clinical services, clinical transformation or operational service delivery. This role will require a blend of science of improvement knowledge, project management skills and excellent stakeholder engagement skills.

Clinical practice groups (CPGs) are clinical oversight groups that lead in reducing unwarranted variation and improving the care we deliver for patients across all of our hospitals.

Multi-professional teams of clinicians, supported by operational management, redesign care pathways using evidence-based principles and current best practice to deliver the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Main duties of the job

Shape & supportdelivery of priority improvement projects.

Champion, inspire and promote the development of a culture of continuous improvement.

Provide expert advice on improvement methodologies including the use of data.

Contribute to capability building in improvement science and developing learning systems through being a member of the CPG team.

Ensure patients are at the centre of CPG work and play a pivotal role in improvement.

Develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior stakeholders, across the group and external to the group.
