Job summary
We are recruiting to one Head of People and Culture post, based at Barnet Hospital.
These are senior leadership roles for experienced People professionals who can provide visible, values-led workforce leadership, partner credibly with executive and clinical leaders, and operate effectively in fast-paced, complex NHS environments.
The role
Reporting to the Director of People and Culture, the post holder will:
Lead the People and Culture partnering function for designated clinical divisionsProvide strategic and operational workforce leadership to Health Unit Executive TeamsChampion inclusive, compassionate and high-performance cultures aligned to EDI prioritiesLead Trust-wide workforce initiatives and organisational change programmesCoach, advise and support senior leaders on complex people, culture and employee relations mattersDeputise for the Director of People and Culture as required
Given the nature of the role, a strong, consistent and visible on-site presence is essential, with close day-to-day engagement with operational teams, leaders and staff.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the Director of People and Culture to manage the People and Culture partnering function by leading on the delivery of team wide projects and responsibilities to ensure they are carried out in a timely and effective manner, aligned to the trusts strategic and organisational priorities.
This post holder will also provide business partnering support to Health Unit Executive Teams and a number of divisions. To work with health unit executive teams to establish an inclusive and compassionate culture where everyone is valued for their individual strengths, backgrounds and lived experience in line with the Group's approach to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)
The post holder will work collaboratively with senior managers, Workforce, education, OD and Leadership and NLP Shared Services (Recruitment and Occupational Health) colleagues to provide professional customer focused strategic and operational workforce support of a high quality. To provide coaching and consultancy support to number of business areas/ divisions, to ensure best practice people management within their areas of responsibility and across the wider workforce function.
