- Teaching Clinical Fellow in Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT)
- Full-time | Based at Barnet Hospital (cross-site working may be required)
- The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to offer a full-time Teaching Clinical Fellow post in Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT).
- The appointee will join the Trusts strong Head and Neck directorate which comprises a team of 8 consultant ENT surgeons, 1 Associate Specialist, 8 Speciality Doctors ,7 SHOs and full a audiology Team. The Trust has close links with other Trusts in the North London Central Sector, such as the UCLH, the Whittington and North Middlesex Hospitals.
- The post is primarily based at Barnet Hospital; however, the post holder will have opportunities to work across all Royal Free London sites, including Royal Free Hospital, Barnet Hospital, and ChaseFarm Hospital. The role includes participation in both inpatient and outpatient clinical care, alongside a significant focus on undergraduate medical education.
Main duties of the job
- Delivering high-quality undergraduate teaching in ENT, including bedside teaching, small group tutorials, case-based discussions, and clinical skills teaching.
- Supporting teaching across designated undergraduate year groups in line with agreed curricula and learning outcomes.
- Assisting with assessment activities, including OSCE preparation, mock examinations, and formative assessment, and providing constructive feedback to students.
- Contributing to the development, review, and evaluation of teaching materials and educational resources.
- Supporting student induction, pastoral care, and professionalism during clinical placements, escalating concerns appropriately in line with Trust and medical school policies.
- Participating in educational governance and quality assurance, including collection and response to student feedback.
- Undertaking limited supervised clinical duties, including participation in a 7-person SHO on call rota, ensuring equitable contribution alongside peers.
- Demonstrating flexibility in on-call commitments, including swapping duties where required, to avoid conflict with core teaching responsibilities, with agreement from the department.
- Contributing to the ongoing development of ENT services within the Trust during a period of significant growth and transformation.
- Possession of MRCS (ENT) or equivalent membership of a relevant professional body is desirable.
